The TOUGHBOOK G2 pushes the limits of mobile computing to a whole new level. Based on the TOUGHBOOK G1 and TOUGHBOOK 20, it incorporates features from both. This results in a marriage of computing power with device management and increased security benefits in a smaller, lighter-weight package - only 2.9 pounds without a keyboard. The G2 is also backward compatible with most TOUGHBOOK G1 and 20 docks. Fully rugged, it embraces the revolutionary new modular design developed for the semi-rugged TOUGHBOOK 55. Essentially, what you get is the opportunity to buy a tablet that can be expanded to a laptop. Either way, the G2 will support the evolving needs of the full range of mobile workers from federal agencies, utility, and field services, to those working in retail, marketing, transportation, and logistics. Customization options are phenomenal, with three modular expansion areas and as many as 36 xPAK combinations. There are a host of features and functions from a serial port to a barcode reader and thermal camera. It comes standard with 18.5 hours of battery life and an optional bridge battery with one-minute hot swap time.
